• This is designed to be a long term sickness policy and can be set to run until your retirement age if you wish. The benefit will continue to pay until you return to work or the policy ends.

• The amount of monthly benefit you can have will depend on your gross annual income at the time of the claim.

• The cover can run in conjunction with any employer sick pay you may receive.

• The benefit should be sufficient to cover your mortgage payments, associated insurance payments and other regular payments

• The likelihood of a claim on this type of policy is high and this is reflected in the premium

• There are limits to the amount of cover you can arrange, usually 65% of your gross salary. Pre-existing medical conditions may be excluded
